Our Volunteers

Volunteers play a vital role in our mission to provide service dog training and public education programs. There are some with a very special gift.

Specifically, dedicated volunteers who serve as Puppy Raisers, Foster Homes, and Guardian Homes are the backbone of our prosperity. Puppy Raisers are instrumental in shaping the future of our service dog program. Their dedication to training and socializing puppies up to one year old is admirable. They lay the foundation for the dogs’ service training by imparting essential skills, behavior, and manners. These volunteers invest countless hours in teaching commands, exposing puppies to various environments, and helping them become well-rounded prospects and service-dogs-in-training. Their commitment is a critical step in the puppy’s development.

Foster Homes are the nurturing heart of our service dog program. They selflessly open their homes and hearts to puppies and adolescents awaiting their handler teammate. These volunteers may also provide a safe and loving environment for dogs in transition, offering them temporary respite from an uncertain future in our Shelter to Service Program. They help these dogs heal emotionally and physically, ensuring they are ready to embark on their journey toward becoming prospects. These individuals are heroes, dedicating their time, patience, and love to help transform lives, one dog at a time

Guardian Homes play a pivotal role in our breeding program, ensuring the continuation of quality service dogs. These volunteers provide a nurturing and stable environment for breeding dogs. They offer love and care to these special dogs, allowing them to live fulfilling lives while contributing to the future of our mission. Without them, the breeding program would not be possible, and the legacy of our service dogs would be at risk.

Our dedicated volunteers who serve as, Puppy Raisers, Foster Homes and Guardian Homes are the unsung heroes of our organization. Their unwavering commitment, compassion, and hard work are the driving force behind your mission. It’s important to recognize and appreciate their contributions as they help transform dogs into life-changing service animals, educate the public, and safeguard the integrity of our cause. These volunteers are the living embodiment of our mission and dedication to service dog teams and the community they serve.
